Essex Property Trust Declares Quarterly Distributions

Essex Property Trust, Inc., a real estate investment trust with apartment communities located in targeted West Coast markets, today announced that its Board of Directors declared a regular quarterly cash dividend of $.81 per common share, payable October 15, 2005, to shareholders of record as of September 30, 2005.
